Our Passion is helping young women find a place in life, especially those young women needing support and encouragement when entering the big, wide world. We wish to assist girls who come of age in foster care or group homes and must try to find their own paths to success.
Therefore, we want the proceeds of our book to help us open a home to aid girls in transition --girls whose upbringing may have lacked opportunity for growth and/ or family support. We hope to help these girls realize and nurture their talents, potentials, and gifts of spirit.

N•U•S•W is all about empowerment. How fortunate are we that the remarkable women in our book share their knowledge, spirit, and incredible strength through their personal experiences and by giving young girls the words of wisdom and heroic inspirations that have helped them along the way!

We thought it important during this time of great idealism, while adolescent girls are actively searching for meaning, that we keep the safety net up and respect their uniqueness and encourage their growth into productive adults.

Ritakaren Reynolds
"OUR STRENGTH"
NUSW and its mission are dedicated to the memory of Ritakaren Reynolds, Joyce Steinert's little sister, who at the age of eight, jumped through the ice to save five-year-old Susan Larson from drowning in a pond at a construction site that didn't have barriers.
Both little girls lost their lives.
Ritakaren was the "mother" of the neighborhood children, always looking after them and helping whenever and wherever she could. She was a wise and beautiful child with a heart of gold and a strength of spirit beyond her years.
To remember and honor Ritakaren's courage, love, and selflessness, Joyce and Kerin have chosen to carry on Ritakaren's spirit of giving through N•U•S•W and its mission: celebrating women and bringing joy and success to young girls, especially those who need additional support after foster or institutional care.
KERIN MARTUCCI
started modeling at the age of eight at the suggestion of her aunt. By the age of 11 Kerin made the cover of the first edition of "Young Miss Magazine" (owned by Esquire) and later graced the cover of "Philadelphia Bride." When Kerin is not modeling at QVC or selling her vintage clothing and accessories, she can be found volunteering for The Salvation Army. Kerin's goal is shared with her mother—to buy a farm for girls with unstable foundations and give them a safe environment in which to live and learn. Kerin currently resides in her hundred-year-old Victorian home in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

JOYCE KEATING STEINERT
has spent her career in the field of health care, and held two real estate licenses in the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware. She is a native Staten Islander and was educated in the New York school system. Life presented challenges at an early age for Joyce, and her resiliency has served her well. Joyce and Kerin’s great grandmothers came to this country not knowing the language and with very little money, but with the belief that with hard work they could succeed. Succeed they did by becoming wealthy inn keepers. Thus the birth of Never Underestimate the Strength of Women.
